In celebration of Earth Day, schools in six U.S. locations will co-adopt a drifting buoy with partnering schools in other countries during April 2012. Student essay and art contest winners will have the opportunity to deploy their school's drifter from a boat at sea. All students are invited to track these special drifters as they journey in the currents of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean transmitting sea surface temperature data to satellites as they go. You can track their course and access their data by clicking on the school names below.
